Creating Successful Construction Partnerships with PPC2000 Scotland

ALAN CRANE
Alan has spent 38 years in the construction industry, including Chief executive appointments with Bovis International, Travers Morgan Consulting Group and Christiani & Nielsen Group. He has had responsibility for a wide range of major projects including the development and construction of Canary Wharf, and Eurodisney.

JOHN WRIGHT
As Chairman of the Construction Industry Council’s Partnering task force and President of the ACA during PPC2000’s development, John has been at the centre of the development of the PPC2000 Contract from its inception. His own practice FM Modern Design now utilises the Partnering process and the PPC2000 Contract almost exclusively.

DAVID MOSEY
David Mosey is author of PPC2000, co-author of SPC2000 and a leading adviser on project partnering and strategic procurement. He heads a team who have advised on more than 80 partnered projects of values ranging from £250,000 to £300m in both the public and private sectors. David also drafted the Heads of Terms for the Construction Industry Council Guide to Project Team Partnering.

DAVID BROWN
After graduating in civil engineering from Southampton University, David Brown worked in the construction industry for both contractors and consultants. He returned to the University to undertake research into construction and was appointed lecturer in Business Process Reengineering And Agile Manufacturing by the Vice Chancellor’s special initiative. His research has resulted in the publication of ‘Selecting The Team and Working Together: Tools for an Integrated Supply Chain’.

MIKE RILEY
In the last seven years Mike Riley has obtained more than £1.2 million of research funding, always with industrial partners to create a more collaborative way of working. Mike has co-authored some 80 publications to date and has organised or chaired conferences throughout the world. He is co-author of three Construction Industry Council handbooks to support Partnering and has DTI funds to research the partnering adviser role, working with the Association of Consultant Architects.

JAMES DICKSON
James Dickson has been a Partner in Brechin Tindal Oatts' commercial property department since 1997. He advises on property, construction and funding issues for a range of clients, including leisure operators, housing associations, developers, landowners, banks and retailers. He has wide experience in the procurement issues arising from housing stock transfers and has also recently been involved in the funding of alternative energy schemes.

DAVID PEARSON
David has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, having worked for a large regional contractor, a national housing association and, for the last 13 years, as a Partner and latterly Managing Partner of Elliott Associates, a regional quantity surveying practice serving local and national clients, principally in the housing and hotel/leisure sectors. David is an active member of the CIOB and is currently vice chairman of its CBC board.
